Evacuated Glass Tube Technology:
Solar Evacuated Tube System are used as the absorber of the solar water heater. They absorb heat from the sun and then converting it for use in water heating. There are many types of evacuated tubes in the solar industry. Sunrain collectors use the "twin-glass tube". This tube is commonly used because of its reliability, performance and low manufacturing cost. Evacuated tubes are generally used in areas which are cloudy winter wethers.Evacuated tubes are made up of single or multiple parallel rows of the glass tube which is supported by a frame. Each glass tube is between a radius of 12mm to 508mm and 50mm to 1800mm in length which totally depends upon the manufacturer. Each tube consists “thermos-flask tube” and it is coated with a special element that absorbs solar energy but doesn't let heat to lose. These glass tubes are made up of borosilicate or soda lime glass, which is resistant to high temperatures and has a very high transmittance for solar irradiation.
Evacuated glass tube collectors don't heat the water directly. Instead, a vacuum is created by removing all the air between the two tubes. This vacuum acts as an insulator preventing heat loss to the surrounding atmosphere through radiation making the collector more efficient than the flat plate collectors have to offer. With the help of this vacuum, evacuated glass tube collectors generally produce higher temperatures in fluids than they’re flat plate counterparts so may become very hot in summer season.
